Surveying and satellite positioning are fields with no room for approximation. A centimetre of difference can decide whether a construction project is correct, where a plot boundary runs, or how precisely a machine is guided in the field. That's why choosing measuring equipment (a GNSS receiver, a total station, or a machine guidance system) **is an expert decision**: based on technical parameters, trust in the brand, and the certainty that the supplier will provide real support, not just a sale.

Our client gnss.net.pl has been operating in this market for almost 16 years, as an authorised dealer and service centre for well-known surveying equipment brands, with more than 5,000 GNSS sets delivered to date. The company offers **a full range of measuring equipment**: from satellite receivers, through total stations and laser scanners, to 2D/3D machine control systems for construction and precision farming. Its strength is its own infrastructure: a private network of GNSS reference stations that already covers every voivodeship (Poland's regional administrative unit), which the company built and maintains itself, providing RTK corrections free of charge to every customer.

This offer's customers are surveyors, construction and engineering firms, and farms investing in precision machine guidance: specialists for whom buying equipment is preceded by a substantive conversation with a sales rep and choosing a solution for a specific project. It's precisely this **expert nature of the industry** and the high value of every transaction that meant the SEO strategy run for our client **since August 2025** had to focus from the start on building authority and visibility where industry specialists actually search, rather than on mass traffic.

## Starting Point

In summer 2025, the client's website already had a solid commercial foundation: product descriptions, the range of individual brands, contact details, and a smoothly working lead form. What was missing, however, was the layer that decides organic visibility in such an expert industry: pages that answer the questions a user asks themselves before they even know which specific model they're looking for.

The site's menu promised basic categories (Surveying, Construction, Agriculture), as well as key segments of the offer such as GNSS receivers or total stations, but clicking on any of these links led to an error page. The site said a lot about individual products, but had no place that talked about the company's entire areas of business. These are exactly the more general, introductory queries a user searches for in Google at an early stage of the buying journey, before they narrow their search down to a specific equipment model.

On top of that, there was a lack of basic SEO optimisation: poorly thought out or incomplete meta tags, and no consistent content structure on key pages. As a result, the client's broad and specific range wasn't fully translating into visibility in search results, especially at the stage where a potential customer is still getting oriented in the topic. The starting point of the cooperation therefore became a clear task: fill in the missing links of the content funnel (the sequence of content that guides a user from general interest in the topic to a purchase decision), and build organic visibility from scratch that would genuinely translate into the number of enquiries.

## Main Goals and Challenges

The main goal of the SEO cooperation was **to build organic visibility matched to the specifics of the client's offer**, rather than simply increasing overall traffic to the site. In practice, this meant:

- filling in the missing topical areas of the site and building a complete content structure around the offer,
- building visibility for keywords directly related to the offer and the user's purchase decision,
- building visibility in parallel across three different customer segments: surveying, construction, and agriculture.

The market in which the client is competing for organic visibility is surprisingly crowded for such a technical niche. It includes specialist surveying equipment distributors, but also industry portals and forums bringing together the surveying community, which have been building their content position there for years, and even the websites of the equipment manufacturers themselves, competing for the same model and brand keywords. Starting the cooperation therefore meant entering a market where some players already had a domain authority many times higher, and a far more developed link profile.

An additional difficulty was that each of the three customer segments searches differently: a surveyor compares the technical parameters of a GNSS receiver, a construction site manager looks for a machine control system matched to a specific excavator model, and a farmer looks for an automatic guidance system compatible with their tractor. This required **parallel work on three different search paths**, instead of focusing on one, consistent group of keywords.

## The Strategy Adopted

The response to these challenges was an approach combining four complementary directions of work: from diagnosis, through content and site structure, to building visibility beyond the website itself, and ongoing monitoring of results.

### Audit and Diagnosis of the Starting Point

The work began with a detailed technical audit of the site, covering, among other things, indexing efficiency (the so-called crawl budget, i.e. the limit of pages a search engine can visit and index in a given time), Core Web Vitals (key indicators of site speed and usability), the quality of the user experience, 404 errors, and an analysis of organic competitors. The audit's conclusions were gathered into a list of guidelines that became the roadmap for the following months of the cooperation, making it possible to determine which gaps (such as empty category pages) needed urgent action, and which elements could be developed in stages.

### Content and Meta Tag Optimisation

At the heart of the strategy was the systematic, month-by-month expansion of content on category and product pages: from the main categories (Surveying, Construction, Agriculture, the RtkNet network), through pages for individual equipment types (GNSS receivers, total stations, scanners, controllers), to the cards for specific models. Every page had dedicated optimisation of its meta title, description and H1 heading, chosen on the basis of the real keywords searched for by customers, both general ones and very precise queries about a specific model or parameter. The work was deliberately spread out over time: instead of a one-off rebuild of the whole site, successive areas of the offer gained full, high-quality content month by month, at a pace that kept every rollout consistent and high in quality.

### Building Visibility Off-Site

In parallel, work was carried out to build the domain's authority externally. Sponsored publications on portals related to construction, technology and surveying introduced readers to specific topics (for example, the differences between an electronic and a robotic total station, or the principles of choosing a machine control system) and naturally linked back to the relevant pages of the offer. The strategy aimed to build a link profile that looks natural, rather than like a one-off campaign.

### Monitoring and Systematic Work

The whole effort was held together by ongoing monitoring of tracked keyword rankings and a monthly rhythm of work: reviewing data from Google Search Console and Analytics, an SEO report, and a meeting with the client summarising the results and setting the plan for the next month. This rhythm made it possible to adjust priorities on an ongoing basis, for example speeding up work on areas that responded faster to optimisation, instead of sticking rigidly to a schedule set in advance.

## Results

Consistent, month-by-month execution of the strategy translated into a clear and **systematic increase in the client's organic visibility**. Importantly, this growth doesn't concern random, general keywords: it's visible precisely in those ranges of search results and for those queries that are closest to the user's purchase decision, and that genuinely reflect the scale of the client's offer.

What matters most here, however, isn't just the scale of the growth, but also the context in which it appeared. As described in the challenges section, the client entered this competition as a player with lower domain authority than some of its competitors: specialist distributors, industry portals, or the equipment manufacturers' own websites. Data gathered after almost a year of cooperation shows that this gap has genuinely narrowed, and the growth covers all three segments of the offer, surveying, construction and agriculture, not just one selected area.

Below we present the results broken down by individual metrics, along with charts illustrating how they've changed over time.

### Growth in Top 3 / Top 10 / Top 50 Visibility

The first and most direct proof of the work's effectiveness is the number of keywords for which the client's site appears in the top Google search results. A comparison of data from the start of the cooperation with June 2026 shows growth across all three analysed ranges:

| gnss.net.pl | Start of cooperation | June 2026 | Change (%) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Top 3 | 6 | 20 | +233% |
| Top 10 | 33 | 83 | +151% |
| Top 50 | 113 | 253 | +124% |

The strongest growth, at more than three times, was **in the number of keywords right at the very top of the results** (Top 3). This result matters especially, because it's positions 1-3 that capture the vast majority of user clicks, and in practice decide whether a potential customer reaches the site at all before even comparing competitors' offers. Visibility in the Top 10 grew to more than two and a half times its original level: this is the range where **the site is building a broad presence** across keywords covering its whole range, not just individual best-selling products. Meanwhile, the growing number of Top 50 keywords (+124%) shows the size of the “reserve”: keywords that haven't yet reached the very top, but have a growing chance of doing so month by month.

**Top 3:**

**Top 50:**

gnss.net.pl visibility in Top 50

All three charts show a very similar pattern over time. In the earlier period, that is, before the described SEO cooperation began, the number of keywords in each range moved within a narrow band, with the small, natural fluctuations typical of a site without targeted optimisation work. A clear change in the pace of growth begins in autumn 2025, exactly the point when systematic metadata optimisation, described in the previous section, was added to the work on content and site structure. From that point, all three curves grow noticeably faster than before, **reaching their highest values** around the turn of 2025 and 2026 and holding that higher level in the following months too. This kind of alignment in time, the moment the work started coinciding with the point where the curves start to accelerate, is strong evidence that the observed growth is the result of the implemented strategy, rather than random market variability or industry seasonality.

### Visibility Broken Down by Positions 1-3 and 4-10

The same trend is also confirmed by a combined view of the number of keywords in positions 1-3 and 4-10:

![gnss.net.pl visibility broken down by positions 1-3 and 4-10](https://justidea.agency/_astro/widocznosc-gnss-net-pl-w-rozkladzie-pozycji-1-3-i-4-10-1024x-8e9894ab.Dt8WnIOh_5KkO0.webp)

gnss.net.pl visibility broken down by positions 1-3 and 4-10

It clearly shows that the total area of the chart, that is, the sum of keywords in both ranges, starts to grow systematically from autumn 2025, exactly the same moment as the Top 3/Top 10/Top 50 curves described above. After a sharp rise around the turn of 2025 and 2026, there's a brief flattening, after which growth resumes and holds until the middle of 2026. This pattern, growth, correction, renewed growth, is typical of **sites developing in a healthy, long-term way**, rather than through one-off, risky actions that are often followed by a lasting decline.

### Non-Branded Traffic in Google Search Console

The growth in visibility also translates into real **traffic generated by queries not directly tied to the client's brand name**, that is, searches where the user doesn't yet know the seller and lands on the site **purely thanks to organic visibility**. This is exactly the traffic segment that best shows the real effect of the SEO work, because branded traffic (searches including the company name) depends mainly on brand recognition, not on content or link optimisation.

 ![gnss.net.pl non-branded traffic in Google Search Console](https://justidea.agency/_astro/ruch-niebrandowy-gnss-net-pl-w-google-search-console-1024x36-cc147055.CLp_o8hJ_13hlta.webp)

gnss.net.pl non-branded traffic in Google Search Console

Year on year (June 2026 versus June 2025), the number of clicks grew from 108 to 180 (+67%), and the number of impressions in search results grew from 7.74 thousand to 18.8 thousand (+143%). The progress is even clearer in average position, which improved from 20.5 to 14, meaning the client's site moved, statistically speaking, **from the second page of search results to the first**, which in practice means a much greater chance that a user will notice the result at all while scrolling the page. The accompanying drop in average CTR (from 1.4% to 1%) isn't a warning sign, but a natural consequence of such a large increase in impressions: the site started appearing for more general keywords too, and at earlier stages of the search, where the user is still browsing the available options before narrowing their search and clicking a specific result. In other words: the site reached a much wider audience than a year earlier, and the fact that some of them aren't clicking yet is a natural stage of the buying journey in such an expert industry.

### Contact Events From Organic Traffic

The growth in visibility and traffic is also confirmed where it matters most for the business: in the data on contact and engagement events recorded in Google Analytics 4, exclusively for traffic from Google Search (source: google/organic). A comparison of the month in which analytics was set up and events started being recorded with July 2026 shows **growth in all the key events** leading to contact with the client:

![gnss.net.pl contact events from organic traffic](https://justidea.agency/_astro/zdarzenia-kontaktowe-gnss-net-pl-z-ruchu-organicznego-1024x7-57ddf70b.ByMUCVtg_8mqgU.webp)

gnss.net.pl contact events from organic traffic

| Event | August 2025 | July 2026 | Change |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Started filling in a form | 34 | 51 | +50% |
| Submitted a form | 22 | 36 | +64% |
| Watched a video to the end | 12 | 22 | +83% |
| Clicked a phone number | 0 | 13 | new |
| Clicked an email address | 1 | 8 | +700% |

The growth in clicks on the phone number and email address is especially telling: a year earlier, organic traffic from Google practically didn't generate this kind of direct contact attempt, and by July 2026 it had become one of the noticeable signals of interest in the offer.

The number of videos watched to the end is also growing, showing that the site is attracting users who are willing to spend time getting to know the offer, not just random visitors. Importantly, this data comes exclusively from organic traffic, so it's **a direct effect of the site's increased visibility in search results**, not of paid campaigns or other customer acquisition channels.

It's precisely this growth, in started and submitted forms, videos watched, and clicks on contact details, that best shows that the organic visibility built up over many months **translates into real actions by users** interested in the offer, not just into numbers in analytics tools.

### Example Keywords With Visibility

Below are example keywords for which the client's site is already visible, together with the average monthly search volume and current position:

![Example keywords with visibility for gnss.net.pl](https://justidea.agency/_astro/przykladowe-frazy-z-widocznoscia-gnss-net-pl-5de7c9f2.BM9Oc66u_2eLzcx.webp)

Example keywords with visibility for gnss.net.pl

It's worth noting that these are **general, highly competitive keywords in the industry**, corresponding to an early stage of searching (“geo” (geo), “gnss” (GNSS), “gps geodezja” (GPS surveying)), not just the names of specific products or equipment models. Appearing in the top results for such broad queries is a direct effect of filling in exactly those category and application pages that were missing at the start and previously didn't exist on the site at all: today, it's precisely these pages that capture traffic at the stage where the user is only just starting to get oriented in the topic. Some of the keywords in the table, such as “tachimetr” (total station), “przyrząd geodezyjny” (surveying instrument) or “mapa batymetryczna” (bathymetric map), still rank outside the top ten, which, given their high search potential, shows that these areas remain a natural direction for further work in the coming months of the cooperation.

Putting all the data above together, the picture is consistent: a growing number of keywords at the top of the results, a real increase in non-branded traffic, and, most important from a business point of view, a growing number of contact events from organic traffic, are three independent data sources that all confirm the same story. The client's organic visibility started growing at the point the described strategy was implemented, and it has held that higher level to this day, in a segment as technical and competitive as surveying, construction and precision agriculture.

## Case Study gnss.net.pl: Summary

This case study shows that effective SEO in as specialist an industry as surveying and measuring equipment requires more than optimising individual product keywords. The customer here isn't only looking for a specific model to buy: often they're still getting to know the topic, comparing technologies, and choosing a solution for use in surveying, construction, or precision agriculture.

The starting point, then, wasn't optimising existing content, but filling in the missing areas of the site: category and application pages that simply didn't exist before. Only once this foundation was built could the systematic, month-by-month work on content, metadata, and external publications take effect, carried out consistently month after month, rather than as a one-off campaign.

The result is a **233% increase in Top 3 keywords**, a **151% increase in Top 10** and a **124% increase in Top 50**, a 67% year-on-year increase in non-branded traffic in Google Search Console, and also a **growth in the number of contact events** (submitted forms, phone and email clicks) generated by organic traffic. This is an example of SEO that doesn't rely on random visibility, but on systematically building a presence wherever an industry specialist is actually searching for a solution, and that genuinely translates into contact with a potential customer, not just numbers in analytics tools.

Do you run a business in an equally expert, technical industry, and want visibility where your customers are actually searching? Let's talk: we'd be happy to show you how a similar strategy could work for you.
