# ChatGPT SEO: an agency that measures brand visibility

People land here with two questions: which agency does ChatGPT SEO, and can you get into ChatGPT at all. We answer the second one honestly. A place in the model's answer cannot be bought or reserved, because OpenAI runs no panel where a company could sign up. What you can do is count how often ChatGPT mentions your brand and how often your competitors, and shift that ratio. On the first question: JustIdea runs this as a separate service with its own pricing. We start with that measurement and hand you the prompts with the full answers, so you can repeat it without us.

A result you can check without an agency

You get the list of prompts and ChatGPT's full answers, not just a chart from a tool. A month later you paste the same questions into the model and see what we see.

Three sources, not one website

ChatGPT builds its answer from what it remembers, from OpenAI's search and from what others write about you. A fix on your own site moves one of the three sources, so we work on all of them.

Starting point

## Why does ChatGPT not mention you, even though your classic SEO is good?

Four reasons. All of them show up in the first measurement, and none is visible in Google Analytics or Search Console: OpenAI offers nothing for ChatGPT that resembles a search engine report. Until someone asks the model your questions and counts the answers, this is a channel without data, not a channel without weight.

**

### It names competitors and skips you

Asked a question from your category, the model gives three names and none of them is yours. Rarely because those companies are better. Usually because there is something to read about them in the places ChatGPT looks, and nothing about you.

**

### It knows you, but its story is out of date

An old address, a discontinued range, the company name from before a restructuring. The model makes nothing up, it quotes a source nobody has corrected for two years. This layer is the quickest to fix, and we usually start with it.

**

### You are missing where the model looks for opinions

When someone asks whom to hire or where to buy, ChatGPT reaches for discussions, comparisons and rankings, not for offer pages. A company without a single mention in such a place is, for the model, a company nobody has written anything about.

**

### Your site is hard for the model to read

The answer to your customer's question is in the text, but spread over five paragraphs and mixed with promises. The model cuts out a fragment, so it takes the one closest to the question, not the one you think is best.

Definition

### What is ChatGPT SEO, and how does it differ from classic SEO?

**ChatGPT SEO means** getting the model to name your brand and cite your site when someone asks it about your category. There is no ranking and no list of ten results here, so the measure is your share of answers: on how many questions from an agreed set your name comes up at all, and in what company. It differs from classic SEO in where the model gets its material, and for ChatGPT there are three separate sources.

The model's memory

What ChatGPT knows about your brand without looking anything up online. It changes the slowest, with each new model version, and depends on how often and in what context your name appears in public texts.

OpenAI's search, not Google

When it answers, ChatGPT queries OpenAI's own index, not Google's, and adds fresh sources. This part of the answer reacts fastest to changes on your site. OpenAI's crawlers leave their own names in your server logs, GPTBot and OAI-SearchBot, so you can check without any tool whether they visit you at all.

What others write about you

Discussions, comparisons and rankings. For questions about choosing a supplier this weighs more than the content of your own site, because the model treats such a source as independent of you. This is the one thing you cannot write yourself.

## What makes ChatGPT cite one page and skip another

There is no tag that forces a citation, and nobody outside OpenAI knows the weights the model uses. What audits do show is what keeps coming back in the pages it cites: a match with the question, consistent brand semantics, freshness and confirmation from outside your own domain. That is why the effect is judged by repeatable measurement, not by one lucky question.

### Relevance to the user's question

The content has to answer the problem the user asks about, not just contain the keyword. The question sets the topic. What counts is an answer that can be tied to that question without doubt.

### Brand semantics and context

The model reads relationships between concepts, not phrases. If one source calls you a manufacturer, another a distributor and a third a shop, ChatGPT decides by itself which version is true. Consistency takes that choice away from it.

### Freshness and content quality

The model needs a way to tell fresh information from last year's. An update date, a stated source for each figure and consistent facts across pages matter more here than repeating the same phrase in several places.

### Industry authority and outside confirmation

Your own site can say anything about you. A credible picture forms when the same fact comes back in other people's material: publications, rankings, case studies, reviews and citations on other sites.

## SEO vs GEO: what changes when a model builds the answer

This work does not replace what you do in search. It adds prompts, sources outside your domain, brand entity context, authorship and answer monitoring. Good SEO in Google is the starting point: with working SEO you start halfway, not from zero.

SEO vs GEO: what changes when a model builds the answer

| Area | Classic SEO | Visibility in ChatGPT |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Main goal | the page appearing in search results | the brand and its sources appearing in the model's answer |
| Queries | keywords | prompts, questions and user intent |
| Measurement | rankings, clicks, traffic and conversions | brand share, sources, accuracy of information and context |
| Content | an answer to the needs of the reader and the search engine | an answer the model can understand and cite |
| Authority | domain, links, content, brand | the same, plus brand entity, experts and outside confirmation |

## How we match prompts to user intent at each stage of the decision

We do not build the question set from a keyword list. People write to ChatGPT in full sentences, often with context about their own company, so we group prompts by the stage of the decision the person asking is at. Only then can you see whether missing from the answer costs you awareness or an enquiry.

### TOFU: the user wants to understand the topic

They ask about the topic itself, not yet about a supplier. Your content has to explain the problem here, because the model will cut out a sales line anyway.

- what is brand visibility in ChatGPT
- how to check what AI knows about a company
- is it worth investing in new search channels

### MOFU: the user compares solutions

Methodology, scope of work and how the effect is measured carry the weight. Whoever can show how they count the result wins, because it is the only thing you can compare between offers.

- how to choose a GEO provider
- how SEO differs from visibility in language models
- how to analyse a company's presence in AI answers

### BOFU: recommendation and choice of supplier

Recommendation, reviews, specialisation and price count here. This is the one question where the model names you or someone else, and it is where we start measuring.

- which agency handles brand visibility in ChatGPT
- who audits a company's presence in language models
- which agency to choose for answer monitoring

## How to write content for AI: what we tidy up in the text and in the tech

**

### Entity SEO: one version of the brand across all sources

The model organises a brand as an entity, not as a string of characters. What matters are the relationships: company name, industry, range, location, experts, clients, technologies and publications. If one source describes you as a shop, another as a manufacturer and a third as a wholesaler, ChatGPT decides which description fits best, and sometimes it picks the oldest one. Consistency takes that decision away from it.

**

### Content for the reader and for the model

The material has to be readable for a person and, at the same time, let the system recognise the topic, the author and the source. This is not keyword stuffing: the answer sits right next to the question, every figure has a stated source, and the offer description is not mixed with five promises at once.

**

### A passage that can be quoted

Citing is a mechanical act: the model cuts out a piece of text and puts it into its own sentence. A good section hands it that piece ready-made: the question in the heading, the answer in the first two sentences, an unambiguous brand or expert name and a figure with a source. The detail goes lower down, for those who want to dig deeper.

**

### Tech that does not get in the models' way

OpenAI's crawlers have to get onto the site before they can cite anything from it, so we start with accessibility and indexability. Then come consistent company data, information structure, structured data and the relationships between pages. A file for models on its own solves nothing if the crawler turns back at the door anyway.

**

### Where search starts today

Some customers start with Google, some with a chat window, and some read only the summary and never open a link. ChatGPT's answer builds the list of companies to consider before anyone clicks a page, so we do not base measurement on one channel.

**

### What exactly we measure

Brand share across an agreed set of questions, how often competitors come up, the sources the model cites, the accuracy of the information it gives, the context of the recommendation and the change between measurements. The result is a figure with a date, not a screenshot of one conversation.

## Related pages: all engines, Gemini and AI Overview

ChatGPT SEO is rarely the only thing to do. Either someone wants all engines at once, asks about Google's model, or prefers to check the search engine alone first. Each of these three pages has its own scope and its own pricing, so on each we say when to choose it instead of this one.

[### AI SEO

All engines at once, as ongoing work and in one share report: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews. That page holds the definition of the whole discipline and the pricing for ongoing work.

Google's model, built into search and into AI Overviews. It reacts fastest of all, because it sits on the same index as the search results, and part of its measurement comes from Search Console data.

View ›](https://justidea.agency/en/services/marketing-agency/gemini-seo/) [### AI Overview audit

A one-off measurement on Google's side: where in your category the search engine answers by itself, whom it cites in that answer and what is missing for it to cite you.

Scope of work

## The strategies we use to build brand visibility in ChatGPT

Four areas, ordered from the fastest effect to the slowest. The first two close within a few weeks, and they usually show movement in the answers first. The last is work measured in quarters. We say so before the start, so nobody expects the same pace across the whole list.

### Order in the facts about your company

One version of the name, address and scope of the offer: on the site, in structured data, in the Google Business Profile and in industry directories. As long as the sources say three different things, the model picks one of them, and it is usually the oldest.

### Content in a form that can be quoted

The customer's question as the heading, the answer in the first two sentences below it, a stated source for every figure. The same change lifts classic SEO, because Google has looked for exactly this since featured snippets, so it is not a cost spent on ChatGPT alone.

### Presence in independent sources

Mentions in discussions and comparisons, ranking articles, presence in industry roundups. We do this openly and on topic, without posing as users: an exposed fake mention does harm for longer than it helped.

### A machine version of the site

A file that tells models which content matters most on your site, plus a plain-text twin of every page, meaning the same content without markup. The JustIdea site runs on this on every page, so we are talking about something we use ourselves, not an idea from a slide deck.

How we work

## From an audit to a measurement that repeats

The first step is always the same, and you can stop there: the audit is a finished product, not the start of a subscription. The first two stages happen without touching your site, so you decide whether to write anything only after the measurement.

1.

1

### ChatGPT visibility audit

2-3 weeks

We agree the set of questions your customers really ask and put them to the model many times, because the same conversation twice in a row can return different names. The result: how often you come up, how often your competitors do, which sources ChatGPT cites and what untrue things it says about you.

2.

2

### Prompt and persona forecast

2 weeks

We predict the sentences customers use to ask about your category and assign them to personas. Without this the question set is a list of Search Console keywords, and nobody writes to a model in keywords.

3.

3

### Fixing facts and sources

3-8 weeks

First, what can be fixed without writing new content: structured data, the business profile, directories, correcting outdated information at the source. This is where the effect shows fastest, because it touches what the model pulls in while it answers.

4.

4

### Monitoring on a fixed set of questions

set-up, then the tool runs monthly

The set-up is one-off: we configure a model monitoring tool on your questions and take the first reading. After that the tool asks them every month by itself, on a subscription you pay for, so you compare your share of answers with last month, not with an impression. We give you the tool's cost before the start.

Client reviews

## Which agency really does this: ratings we do not give ourselves

Ask any agency about ChatGPT SEO and it will say 'us', because such a claim costs nothing. What you can check is something else: how the same company performs in work it has done for years and has already been paid for. The three profiles below show those ratings together with the text of the reviews.

Certificates and partnerships

## ChatGPT SEO: what these statuses give you

We are not an OpenAI partner, because no such programme exists. An agency that boasts of it is citing something that is not there. We hold three other statuses, and for each we say what it really adds to work on visibility in ChatGPT.

### Microsoft Advertising Elite Partner

Microsoft, partner programme of the advertising platform

Visibility outside Google is measured in indexes that have nothing like Search Console. Microsoft's search engine, the same one Copilot answers from, is the only one outside the Google ecosystem that we can see into with partner programme tools. We treat it as a reference point for answers outside Google, and in Poland almost nobody does.

### Google Premier Partner

Google, top tier of the Google Partners programme

Work on visibility in one model moves the others, because many of the sources are shared, and Google results remain the fastest gauge of whether a change on the site worked at all. Partner status gives us a line for questions and earlier access to information about changes in search.

### Meta Business Partner

Meta, partner programme for Facebook and Instagram

Social profiles are one of the sources the model takes basic company facts from: name, address, scope of the offer. Tidying them up is part of fixing the facts, and partner status shortens the path when data has to be corrected on the platform's side.

Doubts before we start

## ChatGPT SEO: four things we hear

### „How do I know you can do this?”

From the audit, which is one-off and verifiable. We hand over the question set and the model's full answers, so you can repeat the whole measurement yourself and see the same thing. If it shows there is nothing to fight for in your category yet, we will say so plainly and stop there.

### „ChatGPT gives no links, so there is no traffic from it”

It gives them more and more often, because it pulls in sources while it answers, but that is not the point. The model works at a stage before the click: it decides whose name comes up at all when someone asks whom to turn to. That person reaches your form later, by typing your name into a search engine.

### „We have SEO, surely that is the same thing”

Largely yes, and that is good news: with working SEO you add a layer instead of starting a project from zero. The difference lies in the form of the content, in structured data and in the fact that part of the work happens away from your site, in places you do not control.

### „In six months everything will change”

The models will, but not what we work on. Consistent facts about the company, answers to customers' questions and mentions in independent sources were needed before ChatGPT and will be needed after it. The interface changes, not the principle.

Limits of the service

## How does ChatGPT SEO differ from Gemini SEO and from AI SEO?

Short answer

This page covers one model and has its own one-off products. ChatGPT builds its answer from memory, from OpenAI's search and from other people's texts, so it is measured separately. AI SEO covers four engines at once as ongoing work, and Gemini sits on Google's index and reacts fastest.

The first step is the same everywhere: an agreed set of questions, asked many times, and a figure that says how often you come up and how often your competitors do. What differs is the number of engines, and the price depends on it. What we do not sell is the sentence ChatGPT will write about you. There is nowhere to order it, because OpenAI runs no partner programme and no list of brands to mention, and the same prompt asked twice in a row can return different names. So we agree on a figure and on the work that moves it, not on a citation in a particular conversation.

### This is the right service

- Customers ask ChatGPT whom to turn to, and your name does not come up.
- You want a one-off measurement with prompts you can repeat yourself.
- The model says outdated things about you and you want to fix them at the source.

### Start with something else

- You want to cover ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overview at once: that is AI SEO.
- Your customers search in Google and read the answer above the results: that is Gemini SEO.
- You first want to check how things stand in Google alone: that is the AI Overview audit.

FAQ

## FAQ: the most common questions about ChatGPT SEO

**### Which agency does ChatGPT SEO?**

JustIdea Agency, based in Kraków, runs brand visibility in language models as a separate service, alongside classic SEO. We start with a diagnosis, quoted for your site: we check whether and where models mention your brand, where they get their knowledge of it and what on your site gets in the way of being cited. When you choose a provider, ask above all how they measure the effect. There are no certificates in this discipline, so the measurement method is the only thing you can check before signing. If the answer has no prompt set and no repeatable measurement, after three months there will be nothing to compare.

**### How do I check whether ChatGPT mentions my brand?**

Ask the model a question your customer would ask, for example 'whom should I hire to build a PrestaShop store in Poland', and see whose names come up. One such test says little, because answers differ between sessions, between accounts and between model versions. That is why measurement uses an agreed set of questions, repeated many times, and counts the brand's share of answers. Only that gives you a figure you can compare over time.

**### How much does ChatGPT SEO cost?**

Setting up visibility monitoring in language models, with the first reading, starts from €250 net as a one-off. The AI Search diagnosis and the audit that combines classic SEO with visibility in models are quoted for your site, because the price depends on its size. We also quote separately an audit of brand presence on agreed prompts and a prompt forecast with personas, where the price depends on the number of questions and languages. Ongoing work on visibility is a subscription and most often goes together with SEO, because it is largely the same work.

**### Does ChatGPT link to websites?**

More and more often, yes, because ChatGPT queries OpenAI's search while it answers and adds the sources it cites. That is not where most of the value lies, though. The model works at a stage before the click: it decides whose name comes up at all when someone asks whom to turn to. A named brand then comes back to search typed in directly, and you see it in traffic on your company name, not in the AI channel report.

**### How long before ChatGPT starts talking about me?**

It depends on which of the three layers of the answer has to change. Untrue facts about the company are fixed fastest, because that is work on structured data and on outside sources, and changes show after a few weeks. The part of the answer ChatGPT builds from live search reacts at a pace similar to Google. The model's own memory changes the slowest and is counted in quarters, because it updates with each new version.

**### Can untrue information about my company be removed from ChatGPT?**

It cannot be deleted from the model, and nobody has access to do that, us included. What you can do is cut off the source and put the correct version where the model looks: correct the data in directories, in the business profile and in other people's texts, and publish one clear version on your own site in a form that is easy to quote. A false fact without a live source gradually stops coming back, but that happens by being crowded out, not by being removed.

**### Do we need to be present on forums and in rankings?**

For questions about choosing a supplier, usually yes, because the model treats discussions and comparisons as a source independent of the company and weighs them above an offer page. We work openly and on topic: a mention has to answer someone's question, not be an advert signed with someone else's name. An account exposed as a company account does harm for longer than any single mention helps, and it stays in the community's memory longer than in the model's.

## ChatGPT SEO: what to know before you start

**

### Why ChatGPT works differently from Google

A search engine picks pages and puts them in order. A model builds one sentence and decides whom to name in it. The idea of a ranking disappears, and so does the list where lower places still bring some traffic. What remains is a yes-or-no question: you are in the answer or you are not. That is why measurement looks different, and why a rankings report tells you nothing about ChatGPT.

**

### Discussions and rankings weigh more than an offer page

For a question like 'whom do you recommend', the model reaches for content that is nobody's advert: forum threads, comparisons, roundups. This is the biggest difference from classic SEO, where you mostly work on your own site. Such presence cannot be written on your own site or bought in a week: it is built over months, and only openly.

**

### ChatGPT SEO and visibility in Gemini

It is not the same work, although much of the groundwork is shared. Gemini sits on Google's index and on what Google already knows about you, so it reacts faster and part of its measurement comes from Search Console data. ChatGPT mixes the model's memory with OpenAI's own search and depends more on what others write about you, and there is nowhere to get a reading from other than measurement on prompts. We describe visibility in Gemini separately, on its own page.

**

### ChatGPT SEO wherever your company is based

Our office is in Kraków, and visibility in ChatGPT does not depend on location by nature, so we work with companies from all over Poland and from foreign markets; we get asked about it from Warsaw as much as from smaller towns such as Legnica. The exception is companies whose customers look for the service locally: there the model relies on the Google Business Profile and on reviews, so the work starts with those two things, not with the content of the site.

**

### How to check an agency that sells this

Ask three questions. First: on what prompt set will you measure the effect, and will I get that set in writing. Second: what exactly will change in the first month if not a single new page is created. Third: how do we know the mentions I pay for will not be deleted by moderators. A provider who answers all three with generalities about authority and AI-friendly content is selling a story, not a measurement.
