# Klaviyo agency and e-mail marketing agency for online stores

Your list of addresses is yours to own, while reach on social media is only rented. That is why it is worth building your own list and communicating with your audience regularly. As a Klaviyo agency and Klaviyo Partner, we segment your list, prepare the campaigns and take care of deliverability, so you can return to your own audience without buying reach in the ad auction every time. We work from Kraków, in the EU, so for brands from outside Europe that e-mail European customers we build the list with each subscriber's consent documented.

**

The list stays yours

We set up the Klaviyo account, or any other platform, in your company's name. If we part ways, you keep the addresses, the consents and the whole sending history.

**

Revenue, not opens

We tag every send in analytics, so the report shows the revenue from a specific campaign, not just the open rate.

Starting point

## Why does a send to a large list sometimes bring no results?

Four situations that often come up in the first list audit. The addresses are collected, the platform is paid for, the content is ready, and the list still does not translate into extra orders.

**

### The list has not seen an email in a year

A send to a dormant list goes to spam, because mail filters read the lack of response as a warning sign. The whole domain then loses its rating, not just that one campaign.

**

### The same content for everyone

Someone after their first purchase and someone who buys every month get the same message. One of them unsubscribes, and you will only win them back with an ad you pay for a second time.

**

### A domain without SPF, DKIM and DMARC

Without these three records, some messages reach nowhere and leave no trace, either in the statistics or in complaints. The domain looks healthy right up to the day a large mailbox provider stops letting it through.

**

### The report stops at opens

A file of open rates does not say which send to repeat, so the calendar gets built out of habit. A year later it looks the same, because nothing in it pointed to what should change.

Definition

### What does a Klaviyo and e-mail marketing agency do?

**An e-mail marketing agency is** a team responsible for three things at once: the list and consents, the content of the campaigns and the technical side of sending. The first two show up in the report, the third does not show at all as long as it works. Split between a copywriter and a domain administrator, they drift apart at the first deadline, which is why we run them together, most often on Klaviyo for online stores.

Building the list and consents

We set up pop-ups and landing pages with a sign-up form so that every sign-up is deliberate and documented. The list grows from your own traffic, not from addresses you have to clean up later.

Campaigns to a segment, not to everyone

We split the list by purchase history and behaviour, and each segment gets different content and a different sending rhythm. It is the only way to send more often without a growing number of unsubscribes.

Deliverability starts with the list

List validation, splitting contacts by activity and winding down inactive ones. The least visible part of the work, and the one that costs most when skipped, because dead addresses are what wrecks the sender's reputation.

How we start

## From a clean list to a campaign that earns

We do not start by writing an email, but by checking whether there is anyone to send it to and whether it will arrive at all.

1.

1

### Cleaning up the list

to start

We remove bouncing addresses, spam traps and invalid sign-ups, split contacts into active, dormant and inactive, and set up a reactivation attempt followed by winding down for the inactive ones.

2.

2

### Capturing new addresses

when the list needs to grow

A pop-up or a landing page with a sign-up form, connected to your list. The list then grows from the traffic you already have on your site, not from bought addresses.

3.

3

### The first campaigns

a package of two or four emails

We lay out the campaign structure, prepare the messages and send them to the chosen segments. With a dormant list the first sends go out in small batches, starting with the newest addresses.

4.

4

### Further actions

whenever you have something to announce

Every package is a one-off, so you order the next action around your sales calendar: a new collection, a sale or a season. There is no subscription here.

Client reviews

## You are trusting us with your customers' addresses

A list is an asset you cannot rebuild with budget: one ill-considered mailing can burn it for years. That is why a contractor gets checked more carefully here than for a campaign you can simply switch off. The ratings are collected by Google, Facebook and Clutch, not by JustIdea.

Certifications and partnerships

## What we send on and when we choose which platform

We do not sell one platform. For online stores, and especially those selling in several countries, the choice is usually Klaviyo, but it comes from the size of your list and what is meant to happen with it next, not from our convenience. JustIdea has partner status with each of these providers, so when there is a problem we write to the vendor, not to a contact form.

### ExpertSender Premium Partner

ExpertSender, e-mail marketing and automation platform

The top partnership level with the provider we have worked with longest. We reach for it with large lists and where e-mail, SMS and web push notifications are meant to run in one scenario rather than in three separate tools.

### Klaviyo Partner

Klaviyo, platform for e-commerce

A platform built around order data, so segmenting by purchase history is simplest in it. It is our default choice for online stores: we pick it for stores selling in several markets and for products bought on a cycle, and it is where we build most flows, from the welcome series to the abandoned cart.

### Mailchimp Partner

Mailchimp, e-mail marketing platform

A solution for smaller lists and for companies just starting out. With a few thousand addresses a more expensive system will not pay for itself with features nobody gets round to using.

### GetResponse MAX Trusted Partner

GetResponse MAX, e-mail marketing and automation platform

A Polish provider in its version for larger senders: its own sending infrastructure and an account manager on the vendor's side. We use it where deliverability and support in Polish matter, for example for lists in Poland, including those outside e-commerce.

How we price

## How much e-mail marketing costs

Both packages are one-off, with the price stated up front, no subscription. You pay for the platform licence separately, directly to the provider, and its cost grows with the number of addresses.

### List clean-up

List validation, splitting contacts by activity and winding down inactive ones. This is what decides whether the next send arrives at all.

from €200

Doubts before we start

## E-mail marketing: four things we hear

### “E-mail is outdated, nobody reads it”

Check in analytics how much revenue the sends to your own list brought in last quarter. If it does not show in the report, that usually means nobody tagged those campaigns, not that they did not sell.

### “Our list is too small”

The size of the list matters less than where it came from: addresses from your own orders work differently from those collected through a contest. We state the threshold below which we advise against it in the first call, before we send an offer.

### “We do not want to spam our customers”

Neither do we, which is why we start with segmentation. A well-run channel reduces the number of messages one person receives, because every send goes to the part of the list it was written for.

### “We have a bought list, we just need to send”

It is not enough, and we will not do it. Sending to addresses without consent breaks the law, including GDPR, and burns the domain's reputation in a single day. If that is the starting point, we begin by building the list from scratch and say so in the first call.

Limits of the service

## How is e-mail marketing different from marketing automation?

Short answer

E-mail marketing is a campaign sent on the brand's initiative to a chosen segment, marketing automation is a scenario, a flow in Klaviyo's terms, triggered by one person's behaviour. You start with the list when nobody has written to it for months or the domain is not properly authenticated.

Most often the answer is: both, just not in the same order. Campaigns go first, because they provide the content and segments on which the automated flows are built later.

![A campaign sent on the brand's initiative to a segment versus a scenario triggered by one person's behaviour](https://justidea.agency/assets/ill-automatyzacja.svg)

### This is the service

- You have a list of addresses with consents and want to write to it regularly.
- You have things to announce: a new collection, a sale, a product back in stock.
- You send on your own today and the calendar falls apart in the first busy week.

### Start with something else

- You want messages triggered by an abandoned cart: that is marketing automation.
- You want to win new addresses from ads: those are Meta or Google campaigns.
- Your customer buys once and never comes back: e-mail has nothing to recover here.

FAQ

## Klaviyo and e-mail marketing: questions before you decide

**### What does a Klaviyo agency do?**

A Klaviyo agency sets up and runs Klaviyo for you: the account and its connection to your store, the list and its consents, flows such as the welcome series and the abandoned cart, campaigns, and reports that tie each send to revenue. We do it in an account registered to your company, so the addresses, the consents and the sending history stay with you if we part ways.

**### Do you work with brands from the US that e-mail customers in Europe?**

Yes, we work with US brands that e-mail customers in Europe. We work in English, and we set Klaviyo up in your company's name. For subscribers in the EU we build the sign-up so that each person's consent can be shown later, with the date, the sign-up form and its source, because under the GDPR you must be able to show that someone agreed. A confirmation e-mail step, known as double opt-in, is one common way to document it, and we add it where you or your lawyer want it.

**### What consent do EU subscribers have to give for marketing e-mail?**

As a rule, the EU ePrivacy Directive, as each country applies it, requires prior consent for marketing e-mail to individuals, with a narrow exception for your own customers and similar products, as long as they can opt out when you collect the address and in every message. Some countries extend the consent rule to e-mail sent to businesses, so we check each market with your lawyer. The GDPR adds that you must be able to show that consent was given. We do not give legal advice, so we write the consent text with your lawyer and build the list, the sign-up forms and the records in Klaviyo to match it.

**### How is e-mail marketing different from marketing automation?**

Both usually run on the same platform and the same list, so the difference lies in who decides to send. The brand sends a campaign when it has something to announce: a new collection, a sale, a preview. A flow is triggered by the recipient, for example by abandoning a cart. We tie the two into one calendar so the same person does not get two messages from you in one day.

**### How much does e-mail marketing cost?**

Cleaning up the list starts from €200 net as a one-off, depending on the size and state of your list, with a small fee for each extra segment. Mailing campaigns are also one-off packages, quoted for a two-email or four-email package. You pay for the platform licence separately, directly to the provider.

**### How do you build a mailing list from scratch?**

Start with a sign-up point where someone has a reason to give their address, and with an incentive that is worth it. A discount on the first order works in stores, but it also attracts bargain hunters, so in some categories access to content or a back-in-stock notification works better. We put the first forms where the traffic already is: on the product page, in the cart and on the page after the order is placed.

**### What do we do with a list we have not written to in a long time?**

Reactivate it in stages, in small batches, starting with the freshest addresses and switching off those that do not respond along the way. A send to the whole dormant list at once ends in a wave of spam reports. The effect then shows in transactional messages: order confirmations start landing outside the inbox too.

**### Why do you not report opens as the main metric?**

Because since privacy protection was introduced in popular mail apps, some opens are registered by a machine, not a person. We still show opens, but as a supporting signal for choosing subject lines. Which campaign to repeat is decided by the revenue attributed to the send set against the number of unsubscribes, because only those two numbers together say whether the message was wanted.

**### Do you also handle deliverability?**

Yes, as part of the list clean-up: we remove bouncing addresses and spam traps, split contacts by activity, and try to win back inactive ones before winding them down. That way sends only go to the live part of the list, which improves your sender reputation. If your domain is missing SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, we mention that on the first call.

## E-mail marketing: what the result of a send depends on

**

### What exactly is yours in this channel

The addresses, the scope of consents and the history of reactions to sends are yours, because that data was collected by you. The domain's reputation, which mailbox providers judge, is not yours, nor are the limits the platform sets. You take the addresses and consents with you when you change contractor; reputation takes months to rebuild, which is why we do not risk it for a single campaign.

**

### How do you check whether messages really arrive?

The report from the sending platform ends at dispatch, so on its own it confirms nothing. Arrival shows in the bounce rate, in the number of spam reports and in the sender tools provided by Google and Microsoft. We read these three sources in the audit and then regularly, because reputation moves both ways.

**

### Consents, GDPR and commercial mailing

Commercial mailing requires consent to contact in that specific channel, separate from consent to data processing. Its scope decides who may be sent an offer and who only content without selling. Fixing this after the fact usually means collecting consents again, that is, losing part of the list.

**

### A brand from outside the EU e-mailing European subscribers

A company outside the EU that targets people in the EU is, in general, held to the same consent rules as a European one. In practice that means three decisions before the first send: how each address is collected and what the subscriber is told, where the record of consent is kept, and what happens when someone withdraws it. We set these up in Klaviyo in your company's name, and your lawyer approves the consent wording.

**

### E-mail marketing for a store and for a service company

A store can attribute an order to a specific send and count revenue directly. A service company gets an enquiry whose value is only known after the sales conversation, so measurement has to reach into the CRM, and the sending rhythm is less frequent and more substantive.
