What does an SEO audit include and what does it end with?
Four areas, the same in both audit variants. Technical: indexing, URL structure, loading speed and the mobile version. Content: headings, meta tags, keywords, duplicates and a content audit against search intent. On top of that, the profile of links pointing to the site, and an analysis of the competition and the site's visibility in organic search results. An SEO audit ends with a report containing a task list ordered by impact on organic traffic, not a dump of warnings from a tool.
How do you do an SEO audit yourself and where is the limit?
You can do an SEO audit yourself at the first layer, and it is worth starting there. Google Search Console will show indexing errors and the phrases the site appears for, Google Analytics organic traffic, and free tools will measure loading speed. The limit is interpretation: a tool will list a hundred warnings, of which five matter and the rest is noise. An SEO specialist's work is mostly putting those hundred items in order and discarding the ones that will not change the site's position in search results.
Do you offer a free SEO audit?
Not as a report generated by a tool in a minute: a public tool will show you the same warnings for free. What we do offer is a free analysis of your SEO situation: technical errors, organic traffic, positions in the top 3 and top 10 and the competition for your phrases. After it you know whether a full audit makes sense and where to start. The audit itself takes from a dozen to several dozen hours of work, and that is what it costs.
What does an SEO audit involve?
Checking what on the site stops it from ranking higher and writing that up as a list of fixes ordered by impact on results. It covers the technical layer, meaning indexing and performance, the content structure and a comparison with the competition. A good audit ends with tasks to do, not a description of a state you can see in any free tool.
How does a store SEO audit differ from a website audit?
In scope and in the biggest risk. In a store the dominant problem is duplicate content from filters and pagination and the quality of product pages, of which there can be thousands. On a company website the risk is usually a lack of content answering purchase queries and cannibalisation between pages. They are two different jobs, which is why we have two separate services, even though both start from the same price.
How much does an SEO audit cost?
Both audits start from €980 net: the one for a company website and the one for a store. The size of the site decides where you land in the range, because the number of templates to check translates directly into working time. We state the price before we talk, and the first consultation, where we settle which audit you need, is free.
How long does an SEO audit take?
About a month in both services: the company website audit and the store audit, for which we give four weeks. We give the exact date after looking at the site: the difference between a twenty-page website and a store with five thousand products is several times the work. With a larger catalogue the date sits at the upper end of that month, because there are more templates and edge cases to check. We would rather give a date we will keep than a shorter one after which you call asking where the report is.
What do I get at the end?
A document with a list of fixes ordered by impact on results, split into tasks for the developer and for the content team, with an estimated time for each item. Plus a meeting to go through the results, lasting 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the size of the audit; each further consultation is billed at €80 net an hour. The report is yours and you can implement it with your own team or any contractor.
Does an SEO audit also cover visibility in AI tools?
Yes. Users increasingly look for answers in ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity, not only in a classic search engine. During the audit we check whether the site's structure and content are understandable to language models and whether the site stands a chance of being cited as a credible source in AI-generated answers. When the question is only "do the models mention us", JustIdea runs a separate, smaller AI Overview audit for that.
Does JustIdea also implement the audit's recommendations?
Yes, if you want. We can implement the recommendations on the technical, content and link side, without explaining the context to yet another contractor. It is not a condition, though: the report is written so that it can be implemented by your own team or any agency, and the price of the audit does not depend on what you order afterwards.
Do I have to order SEO after the audit?
No, and we set it up that way on purpose. The audit has a fixed price independent of what you order afterwards, and the list of fixes is written so that it can be implemented without us. Some clients come back after a quarter asking about a retainer, and that is fine, but it is not a condition.
