What is a UX audit?
It is a study of user experience in which we check where people get lost, hesitate or give up, and write it down as a list of fixes ordered by impact on results. It relies on session recordings, analytics data and walking the path step by step, separately on a phone and on a computer. It is not an assessment of the look of the site and not a graphic design project.
How much does a UX audit cost?
From €860 net, the same for a store and for a company website. The price is stated on this page before we talk. For comparison: it is usually less than a month of running a campaign.
How does a UX audit differ from an SEO audit and from analytics?
An SEO audit asks why people do not find the site. A usability study begins at the moment they are already on it and asks why they leave without buying. Web analytics is the precondition for both: without correct measurement the funnel shows numbers that must not be read. With zero traffic we say plainly that it is time for search or a campaign, instead of taking the job.
What does a UX audit involve and how does it run?
Three stages, with four activities in the middle. The first stage is an interview: we agree which path is to be studied and what success means here. The second is the study itself, meaning funnel analysis in analytics, a review of session recordings, a cognitive walkthrough and a heuristic evaluation of the key views. A cognitive walkthrough is going through the path as a customer would, separately on a phone and on a computer, and a heuristic evaluation is a checklist based on Nielsen's heuristics. The third stage is a report with a list of recommendations, an assessment of impact and effort, and a one-hour walkthrough.
What errors does a UX audit find most often?
The most common UX errors are boring, and that is exactly why they cost money. Delivery costs shown only in the basket, a contact form with twelve fields, error messages visible only after submitting. Add to that a button hidden under the cookie consent banner on a phone, and a first screen that talks about the company instead of answering the visitor's question. In the report we split them into critical errors that cut the path off, medium ones that lengthen it and basic ones that spoil the impression but do not stop the purchase.
How does an expert UX audit differ from usability testing?
An expert audit works on data you already have and on a specialist walking the path, so it is shorter and cheaper. Usability testing means recruiting users and watching how they complete tasks on your site. We recommend it for large rebuilds, because it answers questions the data does not ask. For a typical website an expert study gives most of the same conclusions for a fraction of the cost of testing.
How long does a UX audit take?
About ten working days from full access, the same for a store and for a company website. It stretches to four weeks when the site does not record sessions yet: we then add two weeks to gather material, because with too few sessions the conclusions would be guesswork.
Do you audit the UX of mobile apps?
Yes, for store apps we build together with the store. The method for websites and apps is the same, the recording tool changes and screens appear that do not exist in a browser, such as biometric login or notifications. Apps outside e-commerce are quoted individually.
What do I get at the end of a UX audit?
A document with a list of fixes ranked by impact on sales. Each item has a description of the problem, a screenshot, a proposed solution and a note on whether the content team or a developer will make the fix. Plus a one-hour walkthrough. The report is yours and you can implement it without us or hand it to any contractor.
Do you run UX audits for companies outside Poland?
Yes, and it works the same way as for companies in Poland, because the study relies on data from your site and does not require anyone on the spot. Our office is in Kraków, and the results walkthrough takes place on a video call, or in person when that suits you better.
